Working together is what works for us

For us teamwork is how to beat my ADHD

Working together is what works for us

Monday, I let myself be persuaded by Jane to do something I've been putting off because I find it so daunting. Something that it's generally embarrassing to admit because it seems like nothing at all to so many people.

For me, that chore is sorting my expenses. This would be a good opportunity to apologise to all those people over the years who have had to get forms filled about expenses from me.

It's only in the last few months that I've discovered I have had ADHD my whole life (huge thanks to Gemma for being the first person to tell me) and my struggles with expenses records, forms and so on are a part of that.

Throughout our marriage, we have found that things work better when we work at them together. They did when we started our own business, Sundayta, on 1st January 1998 and for the 7.5 years we ran that before I became a Methodist Minister. It is absolutely true again in this new adventure.

So together we tackled the embarrassing mountain that expenses feel to me. It took most of the day, possibly I got distracted by some deliveries, and maybe there were a couple of near tantrums from yours truly. But by 3pm it was done and sent off.

Time then for me to do something I'm better at - planning a treat as a reward :-) Yesterday was a beautiful day but quite a strong NE wind blowing at the exposed back of our boat. So I suggested a bit more of the Anglesey Coastal walk on the sheltered side of the Island.

This joined up with Sunday's walk (We shared that with Early Bird Supporters in Week three: not all here) so this time a little south of Rhosneigr starting at Porth Tyn Tywyn and nearly reaching Trac Môn Anglesey Circuit (motor racing circuit) that we had no idea existed. We got to go in the Barclodiad y Gawres Chambered Tomb, although the five stones etched with intricate patterns of zig-zags and spirals were pretty hard to see in the dim lighting.

Still 5.25 miles and 11,675 steps in such a beautiful setting worked well for recovery.

I cooked a quick meal of potato, cabbage, onion, halloumi and egg. We watched a bit of YouTube and then I ordered some more of the stuff needed for our electrical installation.

Another good day, much better for doing it together.
