Summary Week three: not all here

We spent time in Nottingham, some walks, some painting, and a lot of computer work

Summary Week three: not all here

This is a summary of our weekly news for paid-up Early Bird supporters.

We had a very nice Sunday to begin this week. Friendly people (and quite a lot of them) at St John's Methodist Church in Bangor. We got "picked on" as the preacher was talking about Abrahams journeying. He asked how long our journey around the world was going to take and seemed surprised when we said five years 😀

In the late afternoon a first visit to Rhosneigr for a walk, crossing off a little more of the Anglesey coastal path. The route we show in the full newsletter looks like we walked on water 😁

We included a gallery of our beach photos.

Only two blog posts this week:

On Tuesday: More Solar Progress: We are moving towards a massive 2,415watts of solar

This is our (not yet connected) temporary solar farm, which also acts as the roof of a wood store on deck.

On Thursday: Back from eCargoBike store build side project: Two days and one night away, time to catch-up

This is what we built (left the boys to do the painting):

Since then Jane has been busy epoxy coating and painting the nine solar panel support arms for the guardrails (more next week).

I've been on the computer all week. Managed an upgrade to the new Debian 13 "Trixie" Linux and then working on the detailed electrical schematics, ordering the parts and admin.

The step I'm working on at the moment (while waiting for parts to arrive) is how and where to put all these components. The wires are not flexible, some of the cable runs have to be kept really short and the layout of the switches is very important. So far, six boards of components (still need another for the windlass to pull up the anchor).

Videos

Last week's technical video went public on Wednesday and is doing well.

As we hoped, it is bringing in new viewers from YouTube recommendations.

I'm hoping to finish this week's video before going to bed on Sunday. I'll post the link for members only on the blog but will only send the email to those who get all the updates. It's going back to some older footage of work we were doing back in November. Public video will be out on Wednesday.

This week coming

Our main goal is to get some of the solar actually connected and saving us money 😃

Reminders ;-)

The Early Bird Supporter tier gets you the full newsletter, early access to videos for £2 a month (or £20 per year) which is less than 50p per issue. Sign-up here or if you are on the free tier Sign-in and then click Account for all your setting including upgrading.

I'm afraid we need to keep asking everyone (and all your family and friends) to subscribe to our YouTube channel, it does encourage YouTube to share our videos more widely - especially if you also watch them all the way through 😺

Bye from Jane and Dave

PS I can't count so I've corrected the title to week three.
