Surviving Storm Amy
It is currently gusting over 60mph

Amy is now officially our first named storm. According to the Met Office, now is the worst hour for Beaumaris with gusts to 63mph. There are some really vicious gusts coming through when everything shakes (including my screen which is moving around quite a lot at the moment).
Tomorrow, is going to be windy as well, peaking at 60mph gusts.
We are always very much more focused on the gusts because the Menai Strait funnels the wind, especially when the wind is from the North to North East or South to South West. We find that the gaps between gusts are generally pretty short and the wind rarely drops to the non gust speed the forecast has.
No damage to our boat but there has been excitement in the boatyar which I have just shared in this YouTube short video (less than 2 mins):
By the way, yesterday we had a dramatic increase in the number of YouTube views with 2,230 in the one day. We now have a total of over 70,000 views and more than 750 subscribers.
