It has been an incredibly packed week!

Off-Grid

All the wiring moved forward and reached a major milestone. We now have 6 solar panels (2 x 215watt: 24volt and 4 x 175watt@ 12volt i.e. a total of 1,130watts). Without any attempts at energy conservation, we have been able to run for about 36 hours before needing some charging from the boatyard electric supply.

The next steps I am working on are ...

Big Battery News

Our new monster batteries for the electric motor are on the way. Thanks to becoming Brand Ambassadors to Fogstar we have got a huge discount on the new batteries. They were supposed to arrive on Thusday, but it seems like Storm Amy delayed TNT, hoping for them to arrive on Monday. Getting them on the boat will be a challenge as they weigh over 60kg each.

Storm Amy

She came but did not conquer. We had 2 particularly windy days and nights (Thursday afternoon to Saturday afternoon).

...

I also filmed walking around the yard and the beach on Friday evening, very windy!

On Saturday evening we were ready for a break so went to an "end of season" social at our sailing club. Unfortunately, the gluten-free meal I was promised obviously wasn't, so I spent about an hour on the loo afterwards.

YouTube Rockets

Mainly thanks to the YouTube shorts I have been producing daily since getting the new camera, all our figures on YouTube have rocketed.

In August, we had a total of 2,460 views totalling 115 hours and 17 new subscribers.

In the first 4 days of October we had 6,850 views totalling 66.3 hours and 11 new subscribers!

Between 10am and 11am this morning we had another 1,193 views.

This has me reeling, it has come as a complete surprise. Not sure if it will last, but hoping for some momentum.

We did put out another big video. If you want to see the scale of the changes we have made inside this boat over the last 6 years, this is a good one to watch.

Coastal Path

Due to the weather, we have only done two walks since last newsletter. Last Sunday and today.

Sunday 28th

I did a 5-minute video of this one:

Today, Sunday 5th Oct

And a short video about the seaweed thrown up by Storm Amy and Castell Trefadog

We had a couple of walks to/from Beaumaris and just one resistance band training.

We will still be working towards the electric motor install, more solar, the wheelhouse enclosure, more insulation, and more walks.

Have a great week.
