While we are enjoying that we can be comfortable and make some progress when the weather is terrible, this week was a reminder of how much easier everything is when the wind isn't howling and there are days without rain.

Interruptions

We were both making good progress late this afternoon, Jane on the wheelhouse cover and Dave on the solar wiring. Then just as it started to rain very heavily, I had just gone to help Jane hammer in some eyelets (which worked much better on the concrete sort of under shelter outside the fire exit). At that moment, a man came up asking for help because he had got his pickup truck stuck in the mud when pulling out his boat (from the wrong place). Unfortunately for him, it was just after 5:30pm and all the people with tractors had gone home.

In the full newsletter, we have details of the heroic rescue (huge exaggeration). In sumamry the hours spent watching "Matts Offroad Recovery" on YouTube paid off

Video news

As you may have seen on social media we took the plunge and bought a new camera (Dave had to agree it counted for birthday and Christmas for us both - but only for one year!). Jane does not seem confident that this deal will hold!

Details of the problems with the GoPro Hero 10 and the new camera they we have got in the full newsletter.

One impact is that Dave has been playing with YouTube "shorts" (designed to watch on a phone, kind of a TikTok clone). So far, there are 3 available:

Washing Day

An evening coding and heating compost

Solar wiring for all electric yacht progress

We also released our full video on Tuesday:

Side Solar panel legs & MPPT wiring - a saga

We now have 747 subscribers and the numbers are all going in the right direction 😄

Blog Posts

Not so much this week:

Anglesey Coastal Path

We managed three walks this week.

Sunday: Anglesey coastal path to Four Mile Bridge

Wednesday: Anglesey coastal path between all the Holy Island bridges

Thursday: Anglesey Coastal path looking towards Holyhead Harbour

You can see that the last bit was a bit frustrating, as new houses blocked off the old through paths connecting different housing estates.

Boat progress

No pictures (see the today's interruption at the top for why), but we have the first panel of the Wheelhouse cover fitted. Absolutely brilliant. ...

We also tackled some of the intimidating jobs for the solar power. As the video shows, all the side solar panels are now held level by two legs each. Plus lots more done, see the full newsletter.

Leisure time

Besides the coastal path walking, we have also had some leisure time. Jane has been doing some cross-stitch and reading. Dave has been contributing to the SurrealDB database software (which is written in Rust that he has been learning). Five PR's (Pull Request: ie a small code contribution) accepted and 2 still open. He has also been learning Dokploy to be able to deploy his own applications.

Together, we have now managed 5 of the Resistance Band exercise sessions (one more due on Sunday).

That's all for this week.

Love Dave and Jane
