Posts roundup
We have written just over one post per day on the blog. I don't expect we will keep up that pace, for the moment we are trying to biuld a larger community of supporters and trying to increase our independence from big tech companies.
- Storm Floris: Our first storm living aboard
- Small jobs making a big difference & newsletter update: Four quick jobs to improve things and a newsletter/membership update
- New Video! Living aboard catch-up boat tour of our 1977 Rival 38 Centre Cockpit Ketch
- Let's build a boat laundry!: Every sailing boat needs it's own laundry
- The Internet: Ethics, Justice and Sustainability: First of a series on the intersection of Internet technology, ethics, justice and sustainability
- Storage games: It didn't feel much like progress but it had to be done
- Building a solar farm on our boat: Several solar projects

I've given teasers throughout the week; our paid-up supporters get the opportunity to see our next video before it goes public. It is a very technical one with Jane giving practical tips on how to create the eye splices in the Dyneema shrouds and stays that will hold up our main mast.
If you visit our YouTube channel and Subscribe (it's free), then YouTube will show you our new videos, and they show our videos to more people.
As background, the rigging that holds up yacht masts is typically stainless steel wire. It can't be insured if more than 10 years old. So we have had to replace all ours. However, it wasn't just the wire. All the bottlescrews used to tension the wire also needed to be replaced. Also, the chainplates (the part of the boat the rigging attaches to) needed replacing; they have caused problems on other similar boats, and there were early warning signs on ours.
I have also included some explanations and background about our rigging choices.

In the full newsletter, we talk about the milestones this week, how it has felt and what's coming next. Don't forget you can sign up at any time (create an account with "Subscribe" or if you already have a free account, "Sign-in" and use "Account" to become a supporter).
Thanks for your support and for journeying with us!
