Interior plan updates

Insulation

We have slightly adjusted our plans for insulating the hull, under deck and inside of the cabin top.
We are still fitting sheets of 40mm closed cell xps foam. However, as this will not be a tight fit to the hull we are going to build on the example of others (eg Sailing Melody, Sailing Millennial Falcon).
So now we plan to first fit 5mm self adhesive closed cell foam with reflective foil to the hull etc.
Then we will have the 40mm xps sheets held in place with thin plywood & batten headlining.
While we don't have any furniture it makes sense to us to install as much insulation as possible.
We need it to keep energy required for both heating in winter and cooling in summer to a minimum as well as reduce condensation as much as possible.

Cupboards

We are also planning the storage under the side decks in the saloon. Big change from the full plywood front face with a variety of cupboards behind.
Instead a ply shelf for books etc under the side deck. Then build the front face, sides, backs and shelves from fabric eg Sunbrella (with mesh areas for ventilation). The front face will have zips around openings.
The whole fabric "structure" will be fitted into place with battens to bulkheads and ties to dyneema loops where battens can't be fitted.
Aim is to be able to remove the whole storage for cleaning, repairs and hull/deck inspection.
It should also be lighter and quicker to build.
On both sides of the saloon the lowest section of the side can be opened up to increase the settee width for sleeping (other times it will be storage for bedding etc).
The fabric also acts as the settee backrest.
