Huge electric updates
We are disconnected from the boatyard electric supply

We now have the first four solar panels charging our main "house" battery bank. So we disconnected from the boatyard electric supply at about 3pm yesterday. I did an excited YouTube short video when we discovered that the Solar Panels were still bringing in power after 5pm (on the last day in September, in North Wales, with full cloud cover).
It has been raining from about 9pm last night but the MPPTs detected enough voltage from the panels to switch on charging at about 8am, the sky is now starting to clear (noon) with sunny intervals this afternoon.
I've more parts arriving over the next few days, so I am hoping that we will get more solar connected and not have to ever turn the boatyard mains on again.
Battery News
Today, I have ordered and paid for our new batteries for the electric motor. They are from Fogstar (and we are registered brand ambassadors so got a discount and have a referral link), the actual batteries we are getting are four of the Drift PRO 24V 280Ah LiFePO4 Leisure Battery (Gen2)

We do have the slight challenge ahead that the batteries weigh 60.6kg each. So getting them on the boat is going to be "fun".
Motor Installation
I've just had a chat with Andy from AJD Marine who are doing the installation. We are nearly ready to order all the small parts for them to install the motor, batteries, control systems and sign it all off for insurance.
Relief
All this feels such a relief and it is all things that we have been working towards for 6 years now, so amazing to see it really coming together.
