Huge changes coming
For once a title like this is not exaggeration and it's not click bait.
We are very close to moving to love (nope, I'm not going to correct that typo ;) ) on the boat full-time (current expectation is for 5 years). Jane finished her job at the end of last week. I now have 1 week of holiday and 1 week of work. After I finish work we have 1 week to move out of the manse (our current home which is provided by the Methodist Church and which is needed for the next minister to move into).
So in work terms the key things are:
- A Big Feed Summer Celebration and Leaving Party at St Andrew's Methodist Church, Brownley Road M22 0DW on Saturday 19th July from 2pm to 8pm (Free Food, Bouncy Castle and more)
- My official Methodist Leaving Service at Lawton Moor Methodist Church, Button Lane M23 0ND on 20th July from 4:30pm
- For the next 5 years the Methodist Church will record be as "A Minister without Appointment" and I will be listed as part of the Tower Hamlets Circuit in the London District.
Then we get to pack; deliver furniture to family, friends and charity shops; clean; and move onto the boat on Monday 28th July.
Once we are living on the boat then updating the blog and creating videos will be a higher priority and so you can expect more frequent content.
Meanwhile, our goal is still to launch and make our way to Plymouth before Christmas. Then in spring 2026 we will start sailing anticlockwise around the UK, spending the summer in the Scottish Islands. If all goes well then in the autumn we will head to the Canaries and then onto Antigua for Christmas 2026. All these plans should be considered written in sand at low tide.
We look forward to sharing with you.
