Guardlines and solar rails progress

We are making progress despite the weather, which is typical for a North Wales summer in an era of climate change (ie wetter, windier and warmer just as predicted for decades).

We now have all 3 of the guardlines fitted to the forward port side.

I'm going to change the way I attach the lashing to the pulpit so that the lower guardlines are parallel with 250mm gaps. The top one will have to continue to dip from the forward stanchion to the pulpit.

As I've said before. If we find the top line is too high for the sails or climbing over then we will shorten the stanchions forward of the gate.

We have also finished glueing on the supports for the rails that the port side solar panels will fit on.

They look rough at the moment but once cured we can sand and then wrap with fibreglass tape before filling and painting.

The carbon fibre rails will be removable and the panels will rotate around them to set the angle (both for sun and to lift them clear of waves when we are heeling).
