Gently tackling loads of jobs
We thought we would have a gentle recovery day but ...

Yesterday was a day of big jobs.
- Jane coated the wheelhouse extension with epoxy
- Dave finished and submitted his week of Word in Time bible studies for the Methodist Church website (from this Sunday)
- Together we did a major job on our big 48 volt battery bank. We swapped a couple of batteries around, and installed 3 battery balancers (requires 9 wires from the balancers to the right places on the batteries). The purpose is to keep the 4 batteries (that are wired in series) in sync with each other. We hoped this would solve a problem where one battery is draining a lot faster than the others.
We didn't finish and start packing up until 7pm, so it was a long day.
So we thought we would be gentle today. But as we slowly got going we have found ourselves ticking off quite a few jobs.
- Dave has fitted two new halyards to the mizzen mast (topping lift and mizzen staysail). He also replaced the very light mousing line (basically a place keeper) with a temporary mizzen halyard (we keep checking the Jimmy Gree clearance sale for something suitable).
- Jane worked on the insulation in the saloon. She finished the last section of silver backed foam on the port side and started on the XPS foam.

Dave did refit one piece of xps foam in our cabin to stop drips onto his head.
- Dave sorted through how we are going to do cooling of the electric motor controler (see the short video)
- Next, Jane created her first template for the wheelhouse extension roof

- Meanwhile, Dave was cutting the DC power adapters of the LED lights in the main cabin and wiring them directly into the maion 12v DC switch panel. Hopefully, by not running multiple conversions (48V DC to 240V AC to 12V DCV) we will use less battery power.
That filled the day :-)
