Decision time about our DIY carbon fibre stanchions

We have been working with the assumption that our stanchions should be removable. Thinking about it that's probably because nearly all the stainless steel ones we see are in two parts. The base with a socket for the stanchion to drop into.

As we have been fitting ours we accidentally ended up with one that isn't removable (a poor seal when we filled it means it got glued to the base.

We have also deliberately made the pushpit uprights not removable as we want the rigidity and strength there.

The first gate brace joint is currently just removable but it's not easy to achieve and slows things down.

So it makes us wonder whether to make life easier for now by just fixing the stanchions and braces permanently as we go.

If a stanchion breaks we would need to cut at deck level, redrill the deck and epoxy in a new base stub. Not really a huge job.

But we are just wondering if there are any circumstances when we would just want to remove the stanchions. Obviously we have a sealed deck so it wouldn't be to reseal bolts or do something with a toerail (we don't have either).
