Companionway steps

Today we are refitting the original companionway steps. We have been through a few iterations on how to do this as we need them to be removable to give us access to the batteries.

In the end we have removed the plywood lining and are fitting two horizontals. A third will be fitted to the ladder itself so it slides in between the fixed pieces. We will add side "ears" which the sides of the steps will bolt to. That will lock the top into place in all directions.

At the bottom they didn't reach the cabin sole so we are adding (temporary) legs, these will take most of the weight. Later we will sort out a way to bolt these in place for security.
