Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

It's 4:40pm on Christmas Eve as I write this, so we wish everyone a blessed Christmas and best wishes for the new year.

Earlier today we went for a nice, cold and windblown coastal walk on Holy Island. We chose a circular walk from the beach at Rhoscolyn, very beautiful if a bit boggy and very cold along the costal part.

Some pictures from the walk:

Since our last newsletter, we have had guests to stay. Our sons came to stay for Dave's birthday weekend. For the first time, we were able to set up two single beds in the saloon, both seemed comfy enough 😄 even if foot clearance on the starboard size was a little tight.

Since then, Dave was amused by Jane's technique for changing our duvet cover, as it appeared to swallow her.

We have published our first long form video in a long time, it summarises the work we have done on the boat since moving to live on board nearly 5 months ago.

For the first time we have been able to do A/B testing on YouTube so you will randomly get to see one of three title and thumbnail versions. It will be interesting to see how much difference there is for a small channel like us.

Dave has been continuing work on the Electric motor mounts (not a lot to show for it yet!). Jane has been recruited for some part-time work sewing winter covers for 3 or 4 of the tour boats in the yard, they want some protection while they are replacing all the diesel engines (they fit new engines every three years and have 6 to change this winter).

We seem to have "settled" weather with cold northerly winds at the moment, Jane's cockpit enclosure is doing a brilliant job at protecting us from the worst of it. So we are managing to stay warm and cosy inside. We will be venturing out for the midnight communion at St John's Methodist in Bangor and then for the Christmas celebration worship tomorrow.

Later in the week we are visiting our sons in Nottingham for a couple of nights. So we will see you here for the New Year.

Love and best wishes

Jane and Dave
